“Spring Forward”

“Spring Forward”…. I hope mother nature gets the memo.

Today 3/8 – Patchy AM Fog; Increasing Clouds – High 58˚ / Tonight – Iso’d Rain Showers – Low 34˚

9am 41˚ ~ 12pm 52˚ ~ 3pm 58˚  ~ 6pm 53˚ ~ 9pm 48˚

Some areas of patchy freezing fog have developed this morning. The fog will create reduced visibility and has the potential to create a few slick spots… wouldn’t hurt to take some extra precautions when traveling this morning.

Don’t worry, the fog will soon clear leaving us with partly to mostly sunny skies for the remainder of the morning. A weak cold front is draped just north of the Ohio River currently and it will be slipping in our direction by this afternoon. This front in combination with a disturbance moving our way from the southwest should cause an increase in clouds.

You can get a better idea of this from the surface forecast below:

Surface forecast valid for 6 pm today via the Weather Prediction Center.

By later afternoon and into the overnight, there is a slight chance that a few of us may catch a sprinkle or shower in addition to the clouds. Nothing major here with amounts generally below 0.10″ and I honestly think most of us stay dry. Could be a snowflake/sleet pellet or two mixed in further north, but again no big deal.

Also, be sure to set your alarm for 2am so you can get up and move your clock forward an hour…. uhhh, or you could just do it tonight or after you wake up tomorrow. I’ll let you decide.

Sun – AM Clouds, Sunny – High 54˚ / Sun Night – Clear – Low 34˚

“You mean I lost an hour of sleep and you still expect me to get up with my alarm?”

Clouds, and again, maybe a sprinkle or flurry will try to hang around in the morning before most everything has cleared out by midday. In fact, it should be a great day with sunny skies after the clouds clear. Temperatures will be a touch cooler than today thanks to the cold front but we should still manage to warm into the low to mid 50s.

Overnight, skies will remain clear thanks to high pressure again fully in control. With calm winds and clear skies, temperatures will take a tumble back into the low to mid 30s. Not to shabby comparatively.

Mon – Sunny – High 64˚ / Mon Night – Mostly Clear – Low 48˚

High pressure continues its dominance right into Monday but unlike last week, we’ll get in on the return flow around the back side of the high. What on earth does that mean? Simple…. WARMTH BABY! Highs will likely rise into the low to mid 60s for afternoon highs. Skies remain clear overnight as well, with temperatures only falling into the upper 40s.

That put’s a wrap on the this fairly quite forecast. You can always get the latest by following @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWx on twitter… give us shout. Enjoy the nice calm weather and thanks for reading.
