The only reaction needed for today’s forecast.

Today 3/7 – Patchy AM Fog; Sunny – High 58˚ / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 34˚

6am 26˚ ~ 9am 38˚ ~ 12pm 50˚ ~ 3pm 58˚  ~ 6pm 50˚ ~ 9pm 43˚

Take note that with temperatures below freezing, slick spots will be inevitable this morning.  Use caution on the early commute.

High pressure will have our region in the “cobra-clutch” today, which will supply us with plentiful amounts of sunshine.  This feature will also allow our warming trend to continue, sending values into the lower 60s this afternoon.  For tonight, we’ll keep it calm and quiet.

Moving right along…

Sat – Partly Sunny – High 60˚ / Sat Night – Scat’d Rain & Snow Showers – Low 34˚

A system will approach from the west as we get into the start of the weekend.  A mix of sun & clouds will join us through the first part of the day, with increasing clouds slated through the afternoon and evening.  As we get into Saturday night, a cold front will advance across the region.  Sufficient moisture will coincide with the forcing from this boundary to fire off isolated to scattered rain showers across the region.

This event will not produce anything significant, and rainfall amounts should stay below .25″, if anything at all.  The GFS model below is valid for midnight Sunday, and paints light precip across the viewing area.  With temperatures flirting with the freezing threshold of 32˚, a few snow flakes can’t be ruled out.  Again…this should be NOTHING to worry about:

GFS Precip Model Valid 12am Sunday
GFS Precip Model Valid 12am Sunday

Sun – Sunny – High 50˚ / Sun Night – Clear – Low 31˚

High pressure will once again take over as the cold front continues to propagate to our east.  Partly to mostly sunny skies will make for nice conditions, although a cool down will be in store, as northwesterly winds filter in across south central Kentucky.  We’ll keep conditions calm and quiet Sunday night, as high pressure continues to claim authority.

The early part of next week looks to be mouth-watering.  Rays of sunshine will continue to extend their stay, as temperatures values rebound back into the low – mid 60s.  Our pattern will turn cooler as we get into the middle next week, as a trough orients itself across the region, meaning a return to an active pattern.

That’s all I’ve got for the morning update, folks.  Soak in those rays of sunshine today.  As always, stay in touch with @WarrenCountyWx & @WxOrNotBG for the latest in real-time weather information.  Have a great weekend!  Thanks for reading.
