Winter Storm Watch Issued

**A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Warren, Simpson, Allen, Barren and Edmonson County**

This product will go into effect at 3pm Sunday afternoon, and last through 9am Monday morning.  There is MUCH uncertainty regarding this weather maker, as the timing of the temperature drop remains in question.  As for now, it looks like we’ll experience a transition from light rain to snow across the viewing area tomorrow evening – early Monday morning.

As for now, I’m sticking to what I said this morning, with accumulations of a dusting to 2″ possible, with 3″ not out of the question.  The latest data has hinted at the possibility of higher snow totals (up to 3-5″), and the NWS has placed those accumulations in their outlook above.

I’ll be awaiting a few more sets of fresh data before making any changes to my personal thinking.  Regardless of how much snow falls, you should be prepared for the worst case scenario.  If you’re traveling tomorrow night into Monday morning, please exercise caution.

Again, this is a very tricky forecast, with several uncertainties.  This is what we refer to as a low confidence forecast.  There will be a sharp cutoff between minor and major accumulations.  I’ll be back tomorrow with an update on our snow chances.  Until then, stay connected to @Wx_Or_Not for more frequent information.
