Dress warm today…the image may be exaggerating it a tad.

Today – Light AM Snow, BREEZY – High 38 / Tonight – Clear – Low 21

7am 35 ~ 10am 36 ~ 1pm 38 ~ 4pm 37 ~ 7pm 31

We’ll keep light snow showers/flurries around through midday, with clearing skies expected as we get into the afternoon and evening. In other words…DON’T BOTHER GETTING MILK AND BREAD. Judging from reports and observations, it doesn’t look like we’ve received too much accumulation. I’ve had a few reports of a quick dusting and cars being covered, but that’s about it. Forecast verified!

It will not be a fun day in the weather world, friends, as we’ll also have brisk, northerly winds of 20-30mph to deal with. Soak it in, folks…just soak. It. In. Be sure to dress appropriately today. I’m talking toboggans, gloves and scarfs, etc. If you work outdoors, thermals and space heaters may or may not be needed. Temps look to be limited to the upper 30s, with windchill values in the 20s. Early Commuters: Note that a few slick spots are out there this morning. Travel responsibly.

The image provided displays our current surface conditions. Take note of the Arctic High over the Plains, which will combine with low pressure to our southeast to tighten up our pressure gradient, resulting in our brisk, biting winds. The high will build over the area throughout the day and into tonight:

Wed – Sunny – High 41 / Wed Night – Clear – Low 22

7am 22 ~ 10am 34 ~ 1pm 40 ~ 4pm 39 ~ 7pm 32

BITTER COLD will be the best way to describe Wednesday morning. If your vehicle is parked outside, start it and allow time for it to warm up time before heading out. Arctic high will be in complete control, suppressing highs to the lower 40s under sunny skies.

Thu – Sunny – High 50 / Thu Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 34

Rinse & repeat forecast, folks. High pressure continues to dominate south central Kentucky, sunny and quiet continues to be the weather story.

That’s it for now. Don’t forget to stay connected with me via Facebook and Twitter for more frequent information. If you have a snow photo to share, please send them through one of these social media outlets. Have a great Tuesday, and don’t forget to dress WARM! Thanks for reading.
