Friday Afternoon Update

This Afternoon – Sunny – High 67 / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 43

4pm 67 ~ 7pm 56 ~ 10pm 50 ~ 1am 47 ~ 4am 44

Sunny and breezy will be the story for the remainder of today, as westerly winds of 15-25mph continue to pester south central Kentucky.  Let’s have  a look at the current surface model:

A trough remains in place across the eastern US, which will contribute to falling temperatures over the next few days.  High school football fans, wear a jacket to the game tonight.  After sundown, temperatures will drop rather quickly.  High pressure is located to our southwest, and will slowly build north, helping to provide sunny conditions for the vast majority of us through the weekend.

Saturday & Sunday – Partly Sunny, Iso’d Showers – Highs mid 50s / Lows upper 30s

7am 43 ~ 10am 52 ~ 1pm 55 ~ 4pm 56 ~ 7pm 48

A weak cold front looks to approach the area tomorrow, and present the potential for an isolated shower or two in the forecast.  Although this is not likely (due to depleted moisture), I’ll keep a mention of it in the forecast.  Sunday looks to be dry.  Northwesterly winds will continue to suppress temperatures both Saturday and Sunday, limiting them to the mid – upper 50s during the afternoon.  Overnight lows will end up in the upper 30s.

Our sunny and calm pattern looks to continue into the start of next week, as our flow shifts southerly, allowing for temperatures values to creep back into the 60s during the afternoon.

That will be all for the afternoon update, friends.  I’ll be back sometime this weekend with another update on our conditions.  Have a great weekend, and thanks for reading!
