This Afternoon – Partly Sunny, Isolated Showers – High 81 / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 60

4pm 81 {} 7pm 72 {} 10pm 65 {} 1am 62

Partly to mostly sunny skies have accompanied us so far today, and much of the same should be expected through this evening and tonight.  A few stray showers are advancing into western Kentucky at the moment, and although unlikely, they could reach us.  Radar reflectivity and visible satellite (Valid 1pm) can be seen below:

Wed – Partly Sunny, Iso’d Storms – High 83 / Wed Night – Scat’d Storms – Low 63

7am 62 {} 10am 72 {} 1pm 80 {} 4pm 83

Upper level disturbance will track near our proximity, providing the potential for a few isolated storms during the afternoon.  Other than that, we should be partly sunny and quiet.  The upper ridge won’t actually begin to wane until Wednesday night, providing a slight increase in our rain chances.  Severe weather is not expected to be supported by this setup.  The simulated radar model below hints at isolated activity in place across south central Kentucky at 4pm Wednesday afternoon:

Thu – Partly Sunny, Scat’d Storms – High 81 / Thu Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 60

7am 65 {} 10am 74 {} 1pm 78 {} 4pm 80

Another wave of energy will provide a foundation for isolated to scattered convective development. Our atmosphere will remain moist and unstable, with peak heating during the afternoon supplementing the best environment capable of producing measurable rainfall.

I’m trying to resist jumping into the weekend forecast, however, it is worth mentioning that the current setup does suggests the opportunity at some strong thunderstorms to impact us on Saturday. The timing and details of this event still need time to iron themselves out, but it is worth taking note of.

That will be all for now, gang. I’ll be back this afternoon with an update on our weather forecast. Until then, keep it real. Peace.
