Today – Patchy AM Fog, Sunny – High 80 / Tonight – Clear – Low of 55

7am 60 {} 10am 69 {} 1pm 78 {} 4pm 80

Patchy fog out there this morning…early commuters please take note.  Upper ridge will slowly take over the region today, giving us peaceful and quiet conditions.  Light, northeasterly winds should keep highs right around the 80 degree threshold.  Today will be the start of a quiet period in the forecast.

Fri & Sat – Sunny – High 81 / Fri & Sat Night – Clear, Low 60

7am 62 {} 10am {} 71 {} 1pm 80 {} 81

Quiet conditions will remain in place thanks to the ridge aloft, giving us sunny skies through the start of the weekend.  Much improved conditions will be in store on Friday night for all of you high school football fans out there…good news after surviving the monsoons last week.  The 500mb model below shows the ridge in place at 7am Friday morning:

Sun – Scattered Showers & Storms – High 74 / Sun Night – Isolated Showers – Low of 57

A surface cold front will advance across the region, combining with a damp airmass to produce our next opportunity at scattered showers and storms.  No severe parameters seem to be in place at the moment, however, it will be worth keeping an eye on.  Heavy rain, strong winds and lightning will be likely with any storm that develops.
That will do it for this morning, gang.  I’ll be back this afternoon with another look at our weather pattern.  Have a great day, enjoy the beautiful weather, and thanks for reading!
