Monday: A weak cold front will provide partly cloudy skies today, along with a few showers. This won’t be a washout, however, the opportunity at accumulating rainfall will exist. Humidity will remain in the lower 60s, keeping a tolerable feel to the air. 6am 58 | 12pm 78 | 4pm 80
Tuesday: High pressure will provide a mix of sun and clouds across south central Kentucky. It will be pleasant, so get outside if you enjoy the outdoors. Humidity will soon be back in the picture. 6am 60 | 12pm 78 | 4pm 81
Wednesday – Friday: Return flow from high pressure advancing off the east coast will begin to advect warm, moist air into the region. Weak disturbances will be caught in flow aloft, coinciding with the damp airmass to fire off isolated – scattered convection through this time frame. Take a look at the 500mb (18,000ft) model below. Notice the disturbance flowing just to our north on Wednesday morning at 4am:
Other than rogue thunderstorm development, expect sunny, hot conditions, with highs in the mid 80s. High humidity will take heat indexes into the 90s. A cold front looks to push across our proximity on Friday, which will create our best opportunity at strong storm development. We’re still 5 days out, so will await another run or so of data to start nailing it down.
That will wrap up the morning forecast, friends. I’ll be back this afternoon with another update on our weather pattern.
