Still Chilly for Friday
Thursday was quite the cold one around the region and Friday will be quite similar. Starting this morning out in the 20s, we’ll once again struggle to hit the 40º mark for an afternoon high. But hey, it’s December, it’s supposed to be cold, right?
As we move into the evening and overnight temperatures will remain chilly, but not nearly as chilly. We’ll fall back to around 30º or so for a low tonight under mostly clear skies. This sets up a much nicer Saturday.
Warming Up for Saturday
Yes, you heard right. We’re shaking off the upper-30s and lower-40s for something much more comfortable. We’ll be under the control of a high pressure center off to our south…
…and that will allow our winds to start coming out of the south allowing us to warm up to near 50º for a high. And while it will be breezy, skies should remain mostly sunny during the day.
Clouds will be on the increase as we head toward Saturday evening and overnight into Sunday and that will only allow lows to drop into the lower-to-mid-30s as our next system approaches.
We Pay on Sunday
After such a nice Saturday, Sunday is going to be completely different. A disturbance will approach from the south early in the day on Sunday and provide us with a wet one to finish the weekend.
Rain should begin to move in a few hours before daybreak and should last off-and-on through mid-afternoon. Temperatures will also be cooler, only reaching around 45º and holding steady through the evening before another small system may try to move through overnight into Monday, giving us a shot at another shower or two.
That just about does it for me! Thanks for checking into wxornotBG this morning, and be sure to follow @wxornotBG Twitter for real-time weather updates. Have a terrific Friday!
