Real-time Bowling Green Weather Radar:
Today: Partly cloudy, with scattered storms highs around 83°F. Tonight: Increasing clouds, with precip possible late. Lows around 68°F.
Yesterday was, well, at least a bit nicer than the days prior in terms of temperatures!
The day started off with some cloud cover, keeping temps in the 70s for a lot of the morning into the early afternoon hours. However, temps ended up in the mid 80s, which is an improvement in comparison to some other days this week (cough, cough…Wednesday). Dewpoints were still in the 60s, so it didn’t exactly feel great outside.
Today looks only okay, honestly. We didn’t see the rainfall anticipated yesterday, but we can expect some scattered storms this afternoon. We will still be in relatively close proximity to the front to our south, and this will help to spark off some storms into this afternoon.
Highs will end up in the low to mid 80s easily, and mid 80s are more likely if we can avoid precip or heavy cloud cover. Dewpoints will be fairly high across the region, so the air will feel very soupy and awful.
Overnight, clouds will increase across the region, with some showers/storms possible by the early morning hours. Lows should fall into the upper 60s.
Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy, with showers/storms possible. Highs around 78°F. Sat. night: Showers and storms early, exiting by the middle of the night. Lows falling to around 65°F.
Tomorrow looks to be one of the more active days of this week.
The front to our south will begin to drift northward into our region, as a sharp and strong shortwave begins to propagate southeastward towards our region late on Saturday. This front will be a focal point for storms during the day.
Look for highs to only end up in the upper 70s, maybe touching 80, because of the anticipated cloud cover across the region.
Overnight, another front in association with a stronger shortwave will eject out of southern Canada, and bring stronger forcing to the region, with showers and storms possible with this.
Look for lows to end up in the mid 60s under mostly cloudy skies.
Sunday: Partly cloudy, with isolated showers and storms. Highs around 77°F. Sun.night: Mostly clear, with lows around 57°F.
Sunday looks like it is gonna be pretty nice, actually.
Sunday looks to be the beginning of a pattern shift across the eastern half of the US, as a troughing pattern looks to set up going into next week. This will keep our temps down a bit, as a cold front moved through on Saturday night. Look for highs in the upper 70s.
Overnight, look for lows to fall into the mid 50s under mostly clear skies.
Long-term
It is looking like the Sunday-Wednesday timeframe will see a complete pattern shift across the eastern half of the nation. Much of the model guidance points to temperatures ranging from the mid 70s to around the lower 80s. After Wednesday next week, the pattern looks to shift back to ridging across the eastern US.
