Chilly Close to the Week

Good morning, everyone! If you’re like me and the gloom and rain that came at the beginning of the week had you praying for Friday, well, our prayers have been answered. While it is Friday, we will unfortunately see a chilly close to the week with rain chances withstanding today.

Friday

As you head out the door, light scattered showers will be prevalent across the region. Throughout the morning hours, it’s not out of the question that we will see a bit of a wintry mix embedded in these showers in the form of freezing rain and/or snow flurries. However, it is important to note that nothing is expected in the way of accumulation.

Throughout the day, showers remain scattered with otherwise mostly cloudy skies. By the late afternoon, these showers start to fade out and all in all, it will be a dry evening/overnight with the exception of a shower or snow shower here and there. The high temperature will be in the mid 40s with a low temperature close to 34. If you think that’s cold, well, you would be right. But, the record low temperature in Bowling Green for this time of year is actually set at 19 degrees! At least we can be thankful temperatures aren’t expected to dip that low.

Weekend

For your Saturday, expect the chilly trend to continue with only a high of 51 degrees. While the temperature won’t be anything impressive, it will at least be dry. Sky conditions will be partly sunny for most of the day. It should also be noted that it may feel even a bit chillier as wind gusts could get as high as the mid 20s. Saturday night, the temperature is likely to dip below freezing bringing about a frost. Make sure to protect any plants if necessary.

For your Sunday, it will be absolutely gorgeous! A great day to get outside and mow the grass, have a cookout, etc. Expect sunny skies with a high in the low 70s.
