Happy Friday Everyone! After quite the wet day yesterday, I am sure everyone is ready for a dry and quiet weekend.
Before we jump into the forecast, we have a little summary from yesterday’s event from both a severe weather standpoint and a heavy rain standpoint. Nationwide there were 4 tornado reports, 47 wind reports, and 1 hail report. Locally, within WABBLES, there was just 1 report of damaging winds that knocked some trees down in Edmonson County. Overall, a thankfully underperforming severe weather event.
NOTE: This is preliminary data.
The state also saw quite its fair share of rain with 3.5″ being measured in far western KY. Here in WABBLES, Butler County won the grand prize for the most rain measuring in at 2.35″ at the local mesonet station.
Today
Breaking into the actual forecast part of the blog, a quiet day can be expected over our area with the exception of some snow showers in the eastern half of the state that might creep into parts of WABBLES this morning. By the afternoon, skies should begin to clear out a bit.
Other than that, it will be freezing compared to what we experienced the past few days with highs staying in the upper 30s.
Weekend
This weekend will be quite nice with no weather disturbances to speak of and temps warming up throughout as well. Skies should be relatively clear both days and highs in the mid 40s can be expected on Saturday. Come Sunday, we will get a bit of a warmup and temps should top out around 60 once again.
That will wrap up this blog post folks! nothing to really report on out there which is certainly a good thing. I hope everyone enjoys the quiet weather this weekend and as always I encourage you to visit us on our social media sites linked below.
Have a blessed day.
