Today

Today, the forecast will take on that seasonal gloom with high cloud cover. On the bright side, these clouds are not expected to produce any precipitation, leaving us with a fairly calm, dry day. If you have a show that you’ve been wanting to watch, now is the time to do so!

Our only concern will be with below-freezing wind chills that will stick around for the majority of the day. Therefore, if you plan on spending any time outdoors, be sure to bundle up accordingly. We advise winter clothing accessories such as scarves and gloves.

The Weekend

This weekend, an incoming disturbance will reintroduce precipitation chances into our forecast. As cooler temperatures enter the south central region of our state, snow will be anticipated. Whereas Saturday may only bring a dusting, Sunday looks to have more of an impact.

As of now, the main threat with this system will be with snow accumulation Sunday night into Monday morning. If you commute to your workplace, be cautious on the roadways. Roads may be slick from snowpack or ice.

Again, wind chills will remain below-freezing for each day, as high’s drop from the mid 30’s Saturday to around the 30 degree mark on Sunday. Low’s will be trending downward as well with temperatures on Saturday bottoming out in the mid 20’s and Sunday being even cooler in the lower 20’s.

Into the New Week

Into the new week, there is potential for dangerously low wind chills right around the morning commute. These values will linger in the single digits for Monday and Tuesday. Brr! Plan ahead and give yourself some extra time to warm up your car. Oh, and don’t forget to wear your warmest winter jacket!
