Good morning, WABBLES! Happy Thanksgiving Eve. We’ve been dry throughout the work week thus far, but unfortunately that doesn’t hold out for Thanksgiving as we are expecting rain for turkey day.

Today’s Forecast

We will enjoy one more day of dry weather and sun today before the rain moves in overnight. Expect temperatures to be well above yesterday’s high where we will top out in the upper 50’s. If you plan on traveling for the holiday or have a Thanksgiving dinner planned for this evening, it is a great day to carry out those activities.

This evening though, clouds begin to move in out ahead of the approaching cold front that will be responsible for the shower activity that will be here Thanksgiving day. All in all, though, overnight will be mostly dry until around 4am with a low of 43 degrees.

Strong cold front draped across the midwest approaching western KY which will be responsible for the the rain on Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Day Forecast

As advertised, it will indeed rain on Thanksgiving. For some people, this is great news as it makes them not feel as bad about doing absolutely nothing while eating. For others though, this could impede some things such as travel. Whichever category you fall in, the rain itself won’t actually amount to much. Only about a half an inch is expected, but these showers will be light and constant throughout the day making them just enough to be a hindrance to outdoor activities.

Rain arrives around 6am on Thanksgiving Day.

The heaviest rain will fall in the morning hours. Expect most of the system to be to the east of the region by 7pm. With the passage of the cold front is slightly lower temperatures and windier conditions. The high will climb to about 50 degrees with wind gusts around 20mph.

Overnight, expect gradual clearing as high pressure moves in with a chilly low of 24 degrees.

Black Friday Forecast

If you have plans to go Black Friday shopping, bundle up, because it is going to be cold! At around 6am, the temperature will be near 29 degrees. The day high will only climb to the low 40s. On the bright side though, the high pressure will keep things dry accompanied by sunny skies.
