Weekend Weather Update

Good morning, everyone! We are officially in the middle of this weather-making system that produced rain yesterday, will continue to do so today, and will for the first part of tomorrow. As stated yesterday, there are many events happening around the community so here is your weekend weather update.

Intermittent Rain Today

We caught a break in the action yesterday afternoon where the sun came out for a few hours before giving way to showers in the evening and overnight. However, rain soon moved back in and it will continue to fall this morning, as it is currently at the 6AM hour. Throughout the day, showers will turn to passing by intermittently. Being on the back side of the core of the system means many light, quick showers will be moving through the region throughout the day. At times, all that will be falling with these showers is a drizzle. If we’re lucky, we may get a break in the action and see a few peaks of sun.

This future cast reflectivity shows the character of the rain today to be mainly that of quick light showers. (Pivotal Weather)

All in all, expect pesky showers to pass by every now and then throughout the day with this same possibility to occur during the WKU’s Homecoming Parade. Winds are expected to be relatively light with a high temperature in the mid 50s. Anywhere from 0.1 inches to 0.5 inches of rain could fall.

Rain chances continue into the overnight hours with a low temperature of 51 degrees.

Saturday

Come Saturday morning, the last of the showers will be working their way out of the region. Once again, these will be intermittent and pesky with their existing a chance to see them all the way through the WKU football game and for any afternoon games with SKY Soccer’s Kick or Treat tournament. I’ll emphasize again though that these will be extremely light, mainly a drizzle, and won’t likely alter outdoor activities, just pose an annoyance. The high tomorrow afternoon will be near 60 degrees.

The 6-hour rainfall total for tomorrow by about 1pm is only 0.1 inches. (Pivotal Weather)

Halloween

Just in time for Halloween, this system will have FINALLY moved on. Your Halloween forecast is looking great! Expect decreasing clouds throughout the day with sunshine and dry conditions. The high will be in the low-to-mid 60s, but by the time Trick-or-Treating rolls around, the temperature will have dropped to the low 50s. Dress warm!

That’s all for now! Thanks for reading and be sure to follow our social media, @wxornotBG. Have a great weekend!
