Quiet Week Ahead

Good morning, everyone! This past weekend was about as perfect as it could get for the final weekend of September. The sunshine continues to dominate, but the temperatures make their return to the 80s, as we have a quiet week ahead in store for us.

Those of you who have already transitioned to their fall wardrobe will be sweating this week! (giphy.com)

Staying Dry Start to Finish

The WABBLES region and much of Kentucky will be present in an area of high pressure through Friday this week keeping the atmospheric pattern and accompanying weather conditions pretty calm. At this point, there are no rain chances through Friday, only the dominance of sunshine! Thursday will have the best cloud-cover, but other than that it will be crystal clear all week and there isn’t much more to it than that.

A look at the surface map for Tuesday morning shows high pressure in the southeastern part of the country.

However, one factor to be aware of today, especially if you are wearing a hat, is the wind. Winds will be light around 10mph most of the day but could gust up to 22mph.

Max wind gust in Warren county over the next 24hrs is expected to be around 22mph.

Temperatures Warm Back Up

Unfortunately, we will leave the taste of fall behind this week with temperatures rising back up to the low-to-mid 80s. Beginning today, you can expect the high to climb to about 84 degrees. In terms of the average, this is only a few degrees warmer than what the average would be for this time of the year. Remember though, temperatures in the early morning hours will still be quite chilly in the upper 50s/lower 60s, so a jacket may not be a bad idea. Throughout the week, dew points will be in the upper 60s making for somewhat sticky conditions, but not too too terrible.

Dew point temperatures across most of the state today will be in the high 60s. (Pivotal Weather)

During the overnight hours this week, expect the low to drop to around 60 degrees with clear conditions.

That’s all for today! A short and simple forecast calls for a short and simple post. Thanks for reading, and be sure to follow us on our social media platforms, @wxornotBG. Have a great week.
