Dangerous Heat Carries on Into the Weekend

Good morning to you! Are you sick of this trend of hot temperatures, miserable humidity, and sporadic storms yet? If you are, we only have a little less than a month left of summer and it will fly by! For now, that repetitive trend will stick around for today and the weekend ahead.

More heat? Ugh! (GIPHY)

Today

Today, a strong high pressure to our south will fend off shower and storm chances for our region. We can’t rule out a classic pop-up in the afternoon, though if you do run into one, it’ll be brief and only produce light amounts of precipitation. Other than that, conditions will be sunny, making for a beautiful summer day.

Our only concern for today will be with dangerous heat indices. That seasonal humidity paired with soaring temperatures will make it feel as if it is 100 degrees, or even higher in some parts of our community. If you plan on spending time outdoors, make sure to have water to stay cool and hydrated.

Projected dew points for today from 7am to 7pm (Pivotal Weather)

Weekend

For the weekend, this trend of hot temperatures, miserable humidity, and seasonal pop-up’s will carry on. Any chance of showers or storms will be most prominent in the morning and afternoon, though these will remain isolated for the most part. As of now, these pop-up’s are expected to lack in severity.

Projected precipitation for Saturday from 4am to 4pm (Pivotal Weather)

Once again, there is potential for heat indices to surpass the triple digits, but this will only be for Saturday. On the other hand, Sunday will be only somewhat cooler, with a heat index peaking in the upper 90’s. As mentioned before, make sure to take precautions before spending time outdoors.

That’s all for today! We hope you have a wonderful weekend! For more, follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram!
