Brutal and Dangerous Heat On the Way Out

Good Thursday Morning all of WABBLES! I hope everyone out there has been safe with the serious heat these past few days. I do have some good news though, the oppressive heat will be showing itself out the door shortly.

Today

So, starting off with the bad news, high temperatures today will easily top off in the mid 90s. Anyone outside will need to be well hydrated, so please be careful out there!

Model High Temps (Pivotal Weather)

The high temperatures do not tell the whole story about this oppressive heat. You need to look at the heat indexes or feels like temperatures to see the true scope of things. Unfortunately, the heat indexes tomorrow will likely top 105 degrees!

Model Predicted Heat Indexes (Pivotal Weather)

Switching gears to the better news, the weather should be rather calm during the day. Skies should be pretty clear, letting in more heat, but also keeping inclement weather out. Regardless, you will need to be safe out there with the heat!

NWS Graphic for Heat Safety

The calm weather will not last however, as we go into the overnight. We will have a boundary moving to the south towards WABBLES bringing some questionable rain/storm chances.

Model Future Radar (Pivotal Weather

These rain chances will be thanks to a cold front advancing southward. However, there is high pressure to the south that will likely keep us from getting much rain.

Friday

Friday is when we will start to see a bit of relief from the oppressive heat. You can expect high temperatures to top out in the upper 80s. So, not a whole lot of relief, but at this point, I will take anything.

Model Predicted Highs (Pivotal Weather)

Briefly looking at heat indexes, these will also top out around the lower 90s.

I would also expect some scattered clouds throughout the day with some very small chances for isolated rain showers. Most of the however, should stay well to our south where the boundary will remain.

Saturday

Starting off with Saturday, rain chances will return thanks to another cold front/boundary that will work its way around the area. I wouldn’t be shocked to see some thunder mixed in with the rain, but it shouldn’t be anything to worry about.

Highs on Saturday will sill remain in the mid 80s, but will cool off into the upper 60s to lower 70s into the evening and overnight.
