Good morning, everyone! I hope your week is off to a great start and you are having a wonderful Tuesday morning so far. If you work indoors, you may be thankful for that today as temperatures will be feeling hot, hot, hot!
With the Heat Comes Summertime Pop-Ups
The majority of the Eastern part of the country is experiencing scorching temperatures today. As for the WABBLES region, we can expect a high temperature in the mid 90s. With dew points in the 70s, it will quite literally feel like we are taking a steam bath, once again, as it has the past couple of days.
Expect clouds to develop into the afternoon as a result of the moisture leading for us to see the potential for pop-up storms. That also depends though on how much instability is in the atmosphere. Moral of the story is that we will stay dry through the morning and lunch, however, by late afternoon, pop-up showers and storms are fair play.
These have the potential to produce heavy downpours, gusty winds and dangerous lightning so definitely be aware and go inside if they do occur.
Much of the Same on Wednesday, But Rainier on Thursday
Wednesday presents a forecast very similar to today’s, only with the high decreasing a few degrees dropping to the upper 80’s. Again, expect there to be the chance for pop-up storms in the afternoon.
Thursday looks like it will be our rainiest day this week as a system moves through. At this time, the biggest threat will be localized flooding from downpours, but we will keep you updated as things progress. On the bright side, Thursday starts a trend of much more manageable summertime temperatures in the lower 80s as we approach Independence Day.
As of now, your 4th of July forecast looks to be sunny and 83 degrees.
That’s all for today! Thanks for reading and be sure to follow our social media, @wxornotBG. Stay cool!
