Hot and Mostly Dry Weekend on Tap

Good Friday morning, WABBLES! It has been a gorgeous week for mid-June standards around here. Low humidity and highs in the 80s is pretty nice I’d say! Temperatures are about to crank up again as well as the humidity! Summer returns as a hot and mostly dry weekend is on tap!

Heading through today we can expect abundance amounts of sunshine this afternoon with highs in the low-mid 90s. Moisture is going to start surging back into the region too so there is going to be sticky feel to the air today. The highest heat indices and temperatures are expected to stay well to our west this afternoon.

One thing we will need to keep an eye on this weekend is areas to our north. Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop later today and tonight well to our north. The question is whether any of this activity will reach WABBLES.

Future radar through Saturday. (Pivotal Weather)

Right now the best chances for showers and storms will likely stay north of WABBLES. Although, we have seen this situation before around here. If theses storms do develop and start to dive south we will need to keep a close eye on them. We can’t rule out an isolated shower or storm early Saturday.

The severe risk for our area is very low and the reason is pictured below. The best instability for storms will be north of our area.

The Storm Prediction Center has an “enhanced” risk for severe weather well north of WABBLES. We are not even under a “general thunderstorm” risk for today either.

The map below shows WABBLES in an interesting situation for this weekend. We have tropical storm that will be tracking south of us and a severe threat that will stay in the northern Ohio Valley. Again, an isolated shower or storm cannot be ruled out, but greatest chances will stay north and south of the region.

Here is a look at “Potential Tropical Cyclone Three”. It is expected to make landfall as Tropical Storm Claudette early Saturday. This system is not expected to affect WABBLES expect for increased cloud cover.

Big Time Cool Down Next Week

We look to stay mostly dry through Sunday, but Monday we are expecting a cold front to sweep through the region. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible on Monday and maybe into early Tuesday.

We will need to also monitor the severe threat on Monday and is something we will keep an eye on through the weekend.

Future radar on Monday. (Pivotal Weather)

Dew points will CRASH behind Monday’s front brining in much drier air across the region. It is very possible that we have a few days next week where afternoon highs do not reach the 80s! Is this spring again?

Here is the temperatures outlook for next week from the CPC. A 60-70% chances of below average temperatures. Our average high for this time of year is in the mid-upper 80s.

That will do it for today my friends! Stay safe in the heat and have a great weekend! Remember to follow us on social media @wxornotbg.
