Sunny Start Ends Rather Rainy

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope that beautiful day yesterday recharged you for this new week. More beautiful conditions are in store, but unfortunately, a sunny start ends rather rainy.

Sunny Spring Days Mon. & Tues.

Much like Sunday, today will feature plentiful sunshine and more seasonal temperatures. A high pressure sits on the South Carolina coast and it will keep cloud development at bay and also allow for temperatures to rise into the upper 70’s!

Overnight that high pressure will slowly move right off the coast, but still be in a position to influence our weather. It’s location will help warmer air funnel into our neck of the woods.

A high pressure off the Carolina’s Coast will be in a prime position to transport warmer air into our area Monday into Tuesday. (WPC)

Because of this, Tuesday will see even warmer temperatures for highs. Temps are forecasted to reach the low 80’s! That’s pretty warm. Mostly sunny skies are expected to accompany those warm temps, so make sure to enjoy it! Changes are coming.

Showers Return Later This Week

By the time Wednesday rolls around, clouds will become more numerous with an approaching low pressure. Scattered showers are possible during the early morning hours, but otherwise we can expect an overall cloudy day with warm highs around 80°.

A better chance for rain comes Wednesday night and especially Thursday. Nothing looks severe, however, but we could get a few rumbles of thunder.

A look at what the GFS think we can expect to see on Thursday. Looks like a line of showers with some pockets of heavier rain. (Pivotal Weather)

If you were sick of those chilly temps we had for a while, don’t worry, because this front won’t knock our temps down that far, but highs Thursday will be a little cooler in the mid 70’s.

The forecast looks to improve again on Friday with the return of sunshine!

That finishes today’s forecast. Thanks for reading! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotBG, as well as on Facebook, for all your weather updates. Have a great Monday!
