Isolated Shower Chances this Weekend

The weather department has been rather quiet that last few weeks with no significant events across the Commonwealth. That is not something we are complain about and quiet pattern looks to continue through the end of the month. Like earlier this week, isolated shower chances move in this weekend.

Right Now & Today

Temperatures this morning dipped into the low-mid 30s across the Commonwealth with even a risk for a freeze further to our east. I will say temperatures did get a tad colder than expected overnight and some might have seen frost this morning.

Temperatures will rebound into the mid-60s this afternoon under partly sunny skies. Our next storm system moving in from the west will increase clouds through out the day, but we are not expecting rain for our Friday. Here is the morning satellite image across the country.

Again, it will be a nice day to be outside across the Commonwealth with rain chances holding off until tomorrow. Winds are also expected to stay calm today if anyone has plans to burn this afternoon.

Weekend Outlook

Temperatures won’t get as cold tonight with lows only in the mid-40s. We may see a few sprinkles or light showers develop overnight and begin to move through the area. Outdoor events will likely still be good to go tomorrow, but have the umbrella handy. Here is a look at future radar through Saturday.

We are not expecting an all day wash out on Saturday with most locations struggling to receive a 0.10″ of rain. Most of the activity will fall in the morning hours with the chance for redevelopment of an isolated shower in the afternoon. The chance for thunderstorm activity will remain low and severe weather is certainly not expected.

Temperatures will top out in the low 60s with us being socked under the clouds most of the day Saturday. Winds are also expected to stay light across the region.

Sunday

Drier conditions will return on Sunday with any rain showers moving out of the area by Saturday night. Skies should begin to clear out and we should see mostly sunny skies by Sunday afternoon.

Temperatures will return to the low-mid 60s which is still 5-10 degrees below average for this time of year. Either way Sunday will be almost a carbon copy of Friday’s weather.

Next Week

Temperatures are still expected to stay below normal through next week with highs only in the 60s. Again, our average high for this time of year is in the low 70s. Here is the 6-10 day temperatures outlook showing the chances for below or above average temperatures.

The middle of next week might bring another rain chance as a cold front moves through. This does not look like a significant event by any means, but could bring more pesky rain showers and cooler temperatures.

Still no signs of a serious frost of freeze potential next week, but a few mornings may drop into the 30s again. Again, we will continue to monitor the chance for frost and freeze on daily basis.
