Welcome to Monday, everyone! I hope you all enjoyed a beautiful Easter holiday. As we start the new work week, we look to keep that beautiful weather around! We can expect to see above average temperatures all week long.

High Pressure Keeps Us Dry Mon & Tues

Right now, we have a high pressure center down over the Gulf Coast that is exerting an influence over us here in southern Kentucky. This is going to help keep storm tracks to our north and keep us dry early this week.

High pressure will circulate warmer air into southern Kentucky this week, but will also help keep storms away Monday and Tuesday. (WPC)

Because of the position of the high, it will also funnel warmer air into the region, raising our temperatures this week. Today looks to be another beautiful sunny day with minimal clouds and highs in the mid 70’s!

Monday night temperatures cool down into the cool low 50’s, but expect them to rebound back into the upper 70’s on Tuesday! We won’t quite reach 80° yet, but we will get close. That’s still about 10° above average. Plentiful sunshine will be around on Tuesday as well.

Next Round of Rain Wednesday

As we look into midweek, that high pressure begins to slowly shift eastward, which will allow a low pressure system to swing in Wednesday and Wednesday night.

The Weather Prediction Center has Bowling Green seeing anywhere between a half and three-quarters of an inch of rain. Right now it looks like we could get some scattered showers on Wednesday, but a more organized line will swing through overnight.

Wednesday’s highs remain warm, though, in the mid 70’s despite the rainfall. It’s looking like spring is here to stay!

That finishes today’s forecast. Thanks for reading! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotBG, as well as on Facebook, for all your weather updates. Enjoy this beautiful Monday!
