The Return of Sunshine to Close Out the Week

Happy Sunday, everyone! If you are tired of the rain we have had so far this weekend, we have good news for you. Today, showers will move out, marking the end of that active trend of showers and storms. We go into detail on what to expect today below.

Outlook for Today

For today, not one, but two cold fronts will be tracking over the Midwest this morning. Thus, showers will have moved out of our area by the time that most of you have woken up. Behind them will be an abundance of sunshine to close out our weekend.

On top of that, there will be a fresh breeze throughout the day, ranging from around 15 to 20 miles per hour. Notwithstanding, there is a chance of gusts reaching up to 30 miles per hour up until this evening. If you plan on being out and about, be cautious when on the roads.

As far as temperatures go, our high will take place at the very start of the day and low at the very end. By the time that you have woken up, temperatures will have lowered already to the lower 50’s. We will not start cooling off until sunset, with temperatures dropping to the lower 40’s.

Overnight, temperatures look to plummet even further. This brings about the concern for frost from midnight until the early morning of tomorrow (~5AM). If you have plants outside, it may be a good idea to cover them before you go to bed tonight.

More Sunshine to Come

Tomorrow, the presence of high pressure will make for another day full of sunshine, but calmer winds. The UV Index is expected to reach 7 tomorrow, so make sure that you have sunblock (SPF-15+), protective clothing, and sunglasses handy if you plan on spending time outdoors. Don’t forget a bottle of water, too!
