Today and Tomorrow

Waking up this morning we got temperature in the low to mid 30s across the Commonwealth. The clear skies and calm winds allowed us to get rather cold over night.

High pressure has taken over the region with dry air currently suppressing all the moisture well to the south. Calm conditions and clear skies are expected to continue through our Saturday. Temperatures will touch 60 degrees this afternoon.

Heading into tonight we will drop back down into the mid 30s. Clear skies and calm winds will continue heading into Sunday. Temperatures are expected to rebound into the mid-60s Sunday afternoon. Mostly sunny skies will make it a great day to be outside.

Winds should remain calm through the day on Sunday. It could turn out being one of the nicer days so far this year. Get out and enjoy it!

Monday

Temperatures get knocked back down into the 40s Sunday night. We see high temperatures on Monday approach 70 degrees across the region. The only thing is that clouds will be on the increase through the day. Rain chances do not return until Tuesday.

A developing storms system will move off the Rockies early next week bringing a surge of moisture back into the region. Showers and thunderstorms will develop ahead of cold front on Tuesday. A severe threat does not look to be an issue as of right now, but something we will need to monitor.

Future radar below shows all activity holding off until Tuesday morning. We should see this come to an end by Wednesday, but the clouds will stick around through the middle of next week.

Looking farther out, we don’t see a late season cold snaps in the works. Yes we may have a few cold mornings and days, but temperatures will be right around or above average to close out March.

That will do it for the Saturday edition of the blog. We thank you for following and hope you have a great weekend. Remember to follow us @wxornotbg.
