Good morning to you! This weekend will be mostly uneventful, with the exception of a disturbance that will bring about chances for rain and snow this evening and into tomorrow early morning. In this post, we will go into depth on what to expect!

Saturday
Today will be somewhat split as far as the forecast goes. In the morning, we will be basking in high pressure, which is indicative of clear skies. In other words, we will start out the weekend disturbance-free.
However, in the afternoon, a passing low pressure system plans to drape a stationary front over the south central region of the state. This will allow for a surge in cloud cover. We can’t rule out a stray sprinkle around then.
We won’t see the full force of this frontal passage until the evening, where scattered showers may begin around seven o’clock. Into the early hours of tomorrow, as temperatures drop, the type of precipitation may shift to snow. As of now, anticipated precipitation totals remain at less than a half inch.
Furthermore, temperatures may reach as high as the upper 40’s and drop down to the upper 20’s overnight. We had gusty winds to close out the work week, but fortunately, this threat will be no more for this weekend. Winds will remain calm, varying from 5 to 10 miles per hour.
Super Bowl Sunday
Tomorrow, to say the least, will be frigid. For most of the day, temperatures will be at or below freezing. On the bright side…That gives you an excuse to go all out on fan gear for the game, doesn’t it?
In all seriousness, wet roads that are below freezing is never a good combination. We ask for you to be careful if you plan on being out an about early in the morning, where roads might not yet be treated for potential ice. Take it slow!
Once the remainder of those snow showers are out of our area, we will return to dry weather. So, if you plan on going out for the game, the only thing you have to worry about is layering up! Whether or not that’s with fan gear…That’s up to you.
