Quiet end of the Week Gives Way to Rain chances this Weekend

It is Almost Friday WABBLES! I hope everyone is having a great work week so far and enjoyed seeing some snowflakes yesterday. Not a whole lot to discuss at this time, but nevertheless, let’s take a look at what to expect.

Today

Clouds are starting to clear South across the area, however, clouds from Lake Michigan/Northern Indiana are also moving in at the same time. We might get to see a short break in clouds as we wake up this morning, but for the most part, you can expect to see scattered to mostly cloudy skies throughout the day.

As far as temperatures go, we won’t be getting out of the 30s but it would be worse if we had snow on the ground! You can expect highs today to be in the mid 30s with winds gusting at times in the lower teens. This should die down throughout the day, however.

Tomorrow

There is even less to talk about in regards with tomorrow. You can expect slightly warmer temps than we saw today getting more so into the upper 30s and maybe the low 40s for some. High pressure will be dominant leading to a dry day with mostly sunny skies, but cloud chances could return towards tomorrow evening into the overnight.

Saturday & Sunday

Rain Chances return for the evening and overnight for Saturday as we have a pretty nice low pressure bringing in a large storm system to the Ohio Valley. This system will be the main focus of discussion, but this will also bring highs Saturday into the mid 40s as we experience a warm front moving northward through WABBLES.

Model Projected Highs for Saturday (Pivotal Weather)

As the system moves through Saturday night, we can see some more rain being brought across the area. We are on the southern edge of this whole system so precipitation totals will be higher the more north you go. As for us, I would say up to an inch of rain this weekend is certainly on the table.

Total Rainfall Through Sunday Night (Pivotal Weather)

On the backside of this system Sunday, cold air is expected to funnel in from the north allowing for some brief snow or a wintry mix to occur in Southern Indiana and possibly far Northeastern Kentucky. Warm air advecting northward at the same time will keep WABBLES from getting in on this action resulting in all rain for the duration of the event.

That is all for today Folks! Enjoy the rest of the day today, Friday and the weekend is almost here. I encourage everyone reading this to visit us on our social media sites, @wxornotBG, on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Have a great day!
