Good morning, South-Central Kentucky! I hope you’ve had a great weekend so far full of recovery from the chaotic Christmas week. Today’s forecast would make almost anyone happy as we are expecting a big temperature jump today.
Mercury Continues to Climb
We saw some very frigid temperatures across the region on Christmas Day in the low 20’s. Yesterday began our upward temperature march and this trend will follow into today as the mercury continues to climb.
A low pressure system which has a warm front positioned to the north will pull warm air from the south into our neck of the woods. This will cause our high temperature to hang out in the mid 50’s today! With plenty of sunshine, it should make for an awesome day.
Also associated with the low-pressure system is a cold front that will bring increased clouds to the region this evening. We stand a slight chance to see a shower or two overnight with the low hovering near 40 degrees.
Pleasant But Cooler Conditions Continue
The cold front that moves through tonight will usher slightly cooler air back into the area but pleasant conditions will still persist. To start the week on Monday, the high will be in the mid 40’s and we will see partly cloudy skies with an overnight low of 26 degrees.
Tuesday looks to have a very similar forecast to Monday before we see another big warm-up Wednesday bringing wet weather with it.
That’s all for today! Thanks for reading and be sure to follow our live weather feed on Twitter, @wxornotBG, and also on Instagram and Facebook. Have a great rest of the weekend!
