Happy Monday, everyone! We officially made it to Thanksgiving week. I can smell the turkey now! This weekend marked the beginning of a more active weather pattern for Kentucky. This week we can expect a brief dry period before rain returns.
High Pressure Takes Over
Replacing the cold front that pushed through yesterday is a high pressure that will help us dry out. Clouds are expected to gradually clear out as the day goes on, bringing back plentiful sunshine.
However, expect it to be cooler today than what we have been seeing. With that high pressure will also be some cooler air. Highs today are expected to only reach the low 50’s.
Dry conditions follow us into the overnight hours as temperatures cool into the chilly mid 30’s.
Clouds Build Up Before Rain Arrives
We can expect another dry day on Tuesday as we remain under high pressure control, but that won’t stop the next system from churning our way! The next approaching low pressure system will bring an increase in clouds to the area.
Don’t think some sunshine will be completely out of the picture though! Partly cloudy conditions will allow some sunshine to get through. Highs look to warm slightly into the upper 50’s, but still chilly nonetheless.
We will see the rain return Wednesday as the next system passes through. Right now, the bulk of the rain is predicted to move through during the morning hours, but stay tuned for any forecast changes.
