Sunny Skies Today

High pressure to our southeast will allow our temperatures to warm into the 60s this afternoon. Our next storm system is slowly approaching from the west, which will affect us later this weekend. But first, look at this! The NWS alert map is very quiet this morning!

We will reach a high of 67 degrees this afternoon under mostly sunny skies. This will be accompanied by southerly flow and still some pretty dry air.

Sustained winds this afternoon will still be cranking at 10-15mph with a few gusts of 25-30mph possible. Winds should begin to relax into the overnight hours.

Dry Start to Weekend Ends with Showers

A frontal boundary looks like it will stall just to our north this weekend. This will bring widespread rainfall across Southern Indiana and Illinois. Here is a look at the surface map for Saturday morning.

We stay mostly dry Saturday, but we cannot rule out a passing shower or two. The best chance will be after sunset Saturday evening. Here is a radar loop Saturday-Sunday evening. You can see the rain stays focused north of us until the front passes and eventually we get the wet stuff. Temperatures should make their way into the low-60s Saturday afternoon.

Rainfall amounts will range from 0.25in- 0.75in. This should be a relatively light rainfall too with it moving out by Monday morning.

Dry conditions should then return Monday, but we will be watching another storm system for the middle of next week. This could bring more rain than the weekend system plans too.

That does it for today, make a great Friday and have an awesome weekend! Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for the latest weather information @wxornotbg.
