Temperatures on the Upswing This Week

Welcome to Monday, everyone! I hope you had a relaxing weekend. Temperatures throughout the month of October have been on the cool side so far, but temperatures are on the upswing this week as we start to record more average temperatures.

Cooler Temps Again Today

Before we get back to warmer conditions, we’ll have to go through one more cooler fall day first. Today’s temperatures are forecasted to only reach the mid-60’s, which is about 10° below average.

However, because of a strong high pressure near the region, we will have clear skies and an abundance of sunshine. Being in the sun will make it feel a little warmer than the 60’s, but the air temperature will remain cool.

As we head into the overnight hours, those clear skies will stick around as temperatures drop into the low 40’s! If you think that seems a little cold, the record low temperature for October 5th was 31° set back in 1968.

Warmer, Quieter Conditions Enter

Heading into Tuesday we can expect more sunshine, and with that a rise in the mercury. Highs tomorrow will end up in the mid 70’s instead, which is actually about average for early October.

Clear skies are in the forecast again for Tuesday night, which will be a plus for you astronomy nerds! October 6th is when Mars will be closest to Earth so it will be a prime opportunity for viewing! Check out this website for more cool celestial events this month.

Much of the same conditions will be with us through Wednesday as we can expect more sunshine and highs near 80°.

That finishes today’s forecast. Thanks for reading! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotBG, as well as on Facebook, for all your weather updates. Enjoy this beautiful day!
