Good Saturday morning, Kentucky! We are getting ready for a pretty nice weekend weather-wise. Dry conditions along with slightly above normal temperatures will make it feel like summer once again. Although, a warm weekend leads to a big temperature drop next week.
Today
Dry air has taken over across the region with no precipitation in sight. The next big weather maker is still well to our northwest where it will stay through the weekend.
Mostly clear skies this afternoon will bump our temperatures in the low 80s. The humidity will not be oppressive, but it will be more noticeable than the last few days.
We should see lows tonight drop down into the mid-60s under mostly clear skies.
Sunday and Beyond
Sunday we see temperatures make their way back into the 80s under partly cloudy skies. It is going to be another great day to be outside across the region. While we never say never around here. It is very possible these could be our last 80 degree days at least for a while.
A cold front will begin to approach from the west starting tomorrow. While this won’t reach our area until Monday we sill see clouds slowly increase on Sunday. Rain chances will move in as we open up the new work week.
Rain chances will linger into early Tuesday before we begin to dry out. Anywhere from a half inch to an inch of rain is possible. Severe weather looks like a minimal threat at this time.
Wind gust Monday afternoon/evening could reach 20-30mph as the pressure gradient tightens. Winds will likely not be overly strong, but will be a bit gusty as the front passes through the area.
The temperature trends next week are going to really get us in the fall mood. Multiple days of highs in the 60s and lows in the 50s and even 40s. Here is the 7-day forecast for Bowling Green, KY.
That wraps up today’s forecast. Hope you have a great Saturday and a great weekend! Make sure to look for the Afternoon Weather Story on Twitter, only at @wxornotBG.
