Dry Stretch of Weather Arrives

Welcome to Monday, everyone, and welcome to a new WxornotBG post! Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone has had a great long weekend so far. If you’ve liked this recent weather, I have good news for you! A dry stretch of weather arrives to keep things beautiful.

Labor Day Forecast

The short and sweet forecast for today is that it will be picturesque! A high pressure to our east will keep any major cloud development at bay today, leaving us with sunny skies throughout the day.

Did you know the record high temperature for Labor Day in Bowling Green was 105°, set back in 1925? Thank goodness we won’t be breaking that record today! Temperatures will start off cool, but will quickly warm up as we reach the lunchtime hours, maxing out in the mid to upper 80’s.

Comfortable dew points will make being outside much more pleasant as well. Overnight, our temperatures will cool into the mid 60’s.

Summer Isn’t Over Yet!

Currently, the jet stream at about 31,500 feet in the air is forming a ridging pattern over the Eastern US, which is indicative of warmer temperatures in the area.

What’s important here is the shape of the jet stream. That sharp dip over Utah means a ridge will build over much of the east, including Kentucky. (Pivotal Weather)

Tuesday we can expect another sunny day, but with temperatures a little warmer in the upper 80’s. Dew points won’t be unbearable, but could still make things feel a little warmer than they actually are.

We will see much of the same conditions on Wednesday keeping us dry and warm as we make it over Hump Day.

Weekend Cooling Trend

After this week’s warm up, we will enter the weekend on a cooling trend instead. Temperatures look to fall below average, but the sunshine is forecasted to stick around!

That finishes today’s forecast. Thanks for reading! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotBG, as well as on Facebook, for all your weather updates. Have a great Labor Day!
