Good Sunday morning, everyone! Hope you all have been enjoying the weekend. We ended last week on a rainy note, but we look to begin the new week on a more pleasant one. The sun returns as summer temperatures make a comeback.
Slight Chance of Showers Today
Leftover moisture from the rainfall this weekend has created some fog around the area, with a Dense Fog Advisory in place for Butler and Logan counties. This is in effect until 9 AM CDT. Slow down if you find yourself in dense fog!
Contrary to the weekend, rain chances will start to taper off as we head into this new week. For the most part today, we’ll see partly cloudy skies, but those peeks of sunshine could lead to some thundershower development come the afternoon.
With dew points becoming more muggy, this will also help with some cloud development. Models are showing very widespread development, so not everyone will see something! Otherwise, temperatures across the region will reach the mid 80’s.
Shower chances diminish as we reach nightfall with lows falling into the mid 60’s.
Sunny, but Hot, Work Week
The clearing that took place Sunday night will continue as we head into Monday. We can expect some beautiful weather under mostly sunny skies, but temperatures soar back to around 90°.
In case you were wondering, we have one month until the first day of fall! But until then, the hot and muggy weather will stick around a little while longer.
Tuesday and Wednesday will both share a similar forecast with Monday as a high pressure takes over and sunny skies become more prevalent. Temperatures will also reach the low 90’s both days, but could feel like the mid to upper 90’s once dew points are factored in.
Make sure to check back tomorrow as we start thinking about potential impacts to our area from the tropical storms come Thursday and Friday.
That finishes today’s forecast. Thanks for reading! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotBG, as well as on Facebook, for all your weather updates. Enjoy this last little bit of weekend!
