Showers Return Ahead of the Weekend

Good morning, Bowling Green! I hope you are excited, as the weekend is quickly approaching! The weather though, that’s a different story. Wet conditions appear increasingly likely for the upcoming weekend.

Dreary Day (GIPHY)

Afternoon Pop-ups Today

Before those rain chances really tick up in the coming days, we have one more dry day ahead, and that day is today! Temperatures this morning are sitting in the lower 60s, but will climb to a very seasonable 85 degrees or so by mid-afternoon. The chance for an afternoon shower or thunderstorm is possible (especially south), however, most areas should remain dry for the vast majority of the day. Coverage will be about 20-30% area-wide.

Showers Return for Friday

Unlike today, Friday will offer an increased chance for rain across W.A.B.B.L.E.S. This is due in part to a disturbance that will pass to our south/southeast during the day on Friday. Coverage of showers will generally range from 60-80%.

Temperatures at the start of the business day will be in the middle-to-upper 60s. Temperatures will gradually rise in the morning to eventually top out around 80 degrees by the afternoon. Increased cloud coverage should aid in keeping temperatures fairly moderated throughout the day.

Saturday, wet. Sunday, not so much!

SATURDAY: Things certainly appear wetter on the front half of the weekend. After a wet overnight on Friday, showers will likely linger into the daytime hours on Saturday as well, which may impact any outdoor plans one might have. Lows will start in the upper 60s before topping out in the low 80s for the afternoon.

SUNDAY: A tale of two days. Sunday looks to be drier than it’s earlier counterpart as rain chances decrease and sunny skies become the main headline. The disturbance responsible for the showers and storms on Friday and Saturday will give way to a much more pleasant Sunday. Lows to start the day will be around 70, as temperatures top out in the middle 80s in the afternoon. (Don’t forget: Sunshine will be plentiful, so wear proper sun protection if outdoors!)
