Happy Thursday, Bowling Green! Today will be several degrees cooler than the last several, however, these cooler temperatures will be accompanied by rainfall. The upcoming weekend will also feature shower and storm chances as well.
Rain & Storms Likely Today
As we begin the business day in the middle 70s, we will manage to gradually climb into the lower 80s across W.A.B.B.L.E.S. This will be due in part to the cloud cover associated with the stationary boundary across the southern extend of the state this afternoon.
Along with this boundary, numerous to widespread showers and thunderstorms will move into the area this afternoon and evening. If you have outdoor plans today, things will likely be wet in the PM hours. Rainfall area-wide will generally be between 0.5″-1″.
Rounds of Showers/Storms Possible this Weekend…
As the weekend approaches, the chances for measurable rainfall continue. Several rounds of showers and storms are expected to pass through south-central Kentucky during the day on Friday and Saturday. A passing low pressure system to our northwest is to blame, but at least temperatures will be cooler than they have been! Highs on both Friday and Saturday will only top out in the low-to-mid 80s.
Sunday looks drier, as the area of low pressure will be exiting the area by this point. Highs Sunday will still be slightly cooler than average in the middle 80s. Sunday will be the driest of the next three, so take advantage!
Tropical Update:
After an abrupt landfall by Hurricane Hannah on the Texas coast last week, we have new development in the Caribbean to discuss.
Tropical Storm Isaias, currently packing maximum sustained winds of 60mph, and a mean sea-level pressure of 1003mb (As of 5AM ET) is making it’s way northwestward at 21mph. While it is too early for specifics, it does appear Isaias will have some level of U.S. impact, as it approaches Florida this upcoming weekend.
