Mugginess and Pop-Ups Grip WABBLES

Good morning, folks! Last night we saw those pesky storms fire up across the region bringing heavy, unforeseen downpours. Today and the days to come, we will see much of the same as mugginess and pop-ups grip WABBLES.

White Squirrel cam captured the storms as they began to form last evening.

Today’s Outlook

If you’re an early riser, chances are you’ve seen some patchy fog out there this morning. For info on safely driving in fog, click here.

To be blunt, we’re caught in this monotonous summer-like pattern that brings us uncomfortable air and afternoon scattered storms. Today will just be another day in this story.

Hot, moist air originating in the Gulf of Mexico. (COD)

Moisture and heat from the Gulf is pluming up into our neck of the woods bringing such conditions. In terms of heat, our high today will reach the 90 degree mark. However, the heat index will reach a scorching 100 degrees. Drink plenty of water!

As we get into the afternoon, the moisture and heat will bring about the chance for pop-up storms. With these pop-ups, the biggest threat will be torrential downpours. It’s important to be aware of road conditions as roads can accumulate water very quickly–drive with caution to prevent hydroplaning 🙂

Rest of the Week

For the rest of the week, the same forecast for today holds true. We will see scorching temperatures, awful mugginess, and pesky pop-up storms.

Late in the week, it looks like we have a a slight system move through bringing us a bit of a temperature relief.
