Flash Flood Watch through Monday Morning

Good Sunday Morning, WABBLES! Its a wet and stormy morning as we have rounds of showers and storm moving through the area. A lot of rain has already fallen and more is on the way as we head through our Sunday.

Flash Flood Watch in effect through Monday morning.

Warren, Edmonson, Allen, Barren, and Butler county are included.

Today

We have already seen some decent rain totals across the WABBLES area. The Butler County mesonet site has already reported 2.37in of rain since Saturday morning. A majority of this total falling earlier this morning.

Over an 1in of rain has fallen across the majority of WABBLES

Today we will be watching the radar closely as more showers and storms will develop later today. A few of these storms may produce heavy rain hence the reason for the flash flood watch.

While most areas will not see flash flooding, areas that are prone to flooding such as low lying roads may become flooded if heavy rain persists for too long. Remember if you are driving and you see water over a road

Turn around don’t drown!

Future radar of Sunday afternoon with more storms moving in later today (Pivotal Weather)

We will also be watching the risk for a few strong to severe storms this afternoon/evening. The Storm Prediction Center has placed parts of our area under a marginal and slight risk for severe weather.

Sunday severe weather outlook.

Main threats include strong winds, small hail, and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

Temperatures today top out near 86 degrees with winds at about 10-15mph with a few gust 20-25mph. We again see another round of storms move through this afternoon with drying trends beginning around dark tonight. Lows get down to 73 degrees tonight.

Showers Monday

Monday we will be drier than we are today. Storms look to develop farther east from us and stay out of our area for the most part. Still cannot rule out an isolated shower or storm but chances stay scattered.

A bit of sunshine will also be possible as temperatures top out near 90 degrees Monday afternoon. Here is how much rain the state could see through Wednesday.

Shower and storm chances will ramp back up on Tuesday and Wednesday as more rainfall looks to move through.
