Hot and Muggy Conditions Make a Return

Happy Monday, everyone! Welcome to June! Can you believe we’re already halfway through the year? We ended May on a cool, comfortable note, but as we jump into June, we can expect hot and muggy conditions to make a return.

One More Non-Muggy Day

If you’ve been enjoying the low humidity, I have some good news for you. We can expect one more day of drier air before those dew points go back up.

If you want to learn more about the difference between “dew points” and “humidity,” then check out this short explanation from NWS La Crosse, WI! Even with the low dew points, the air temperature will rise today. We can see highs around 80° today.

Additionally, we will see another day of clear skies and plentiful sunshine, much like yesterday! Make sure to get out and enjoy it! Temperatures will cool off overnight into the comfortable low 60’s.

Daytime Temps Heat Up

A persistent high pressure system has been hanging around the area for a while now, which is why we’ve been staying dry. That high pressure will also be why we start to heat up.

As it sinks further into the Southeast, it will begin to funnel warmer air upwards into our area. Sunny skies will accompany highs in the upper 80’s on Tuesday.

This trend continues into Wednesday as we’ll see another day of sunny conditions, but our temperatures will soar to around 90°! The mugginess will return, too, so it’ll feel like summer is in full swing.

Hot, Dry Conditions Continue

As we head into the midweek timeframe, our temperatures will stay hot and the ground will stay dry. We’re definitely getting our first taste of summer! Models are showing the potential for some rain chances later this week, so we’ll be watching for that.

That finishes today’s forecast. Thanks for reading! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotBG, as well as on Facebook, for all your weather updates. Enjoy this beautiful Monday!
