Isolated and Scattered Storms Continue

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend! Yesterday marked the unofficial start to summer and we rang it in with muggy conditions, toasty temperatures, and pop-up storms that brought heavy downpours. As we head into Tuesday and the midweek, isolated and scattered storms continue to remain in the forecast.

What to Expect Today:

Today will bring much of the same weather we have been experiencing the past couple of days. Toasty temps combined with moisture and instability in the atmosphere have caused the occurrence of multiple pop-up storms. Today, expect the storms to fire after 1 pm.

Otherwise, we will see partly cloudy skies and the mercury will reach the mid 80s. Places affected by the scattered storms will experience intense rain showers. Localized flooding could be an issue in these spots.

Overnight, a slight chance of thunderstorms will remain but mostly cloudy skies will dominate. The low will dip down to around 66 degrees.

One More Round of the Same on Wednesday

Wednesday will be the final day of this pattern we’ve been stuck in (commence the applause). It will be a carbon copy of Tuesday so expect storms to once again have the likelihood to develop in the afternoon hours. Wednesday, however, we will be a few degrees cooler.

Expect the temperature to drop to 66 degrees on Wednesday night with partly cloudy conditions.

Cold Front Sets its Eyes on the Region

For Thursday, a cold front will approach the region allowing the temperatures to cool to about the high 70s. This will also bring widespread rain showers and thunderstorms which will dominate the WABBLES region. On Friday, expect mainly rain showers.

Thursday poses a slight severe threat with shear and instability in question. We will be sure to bring more information as the system moves closer and the models become clearer.
