Calmer Weather for the Next Few Days

Good morning, Kentucky! I hope this forecast finds you and your loved ones well. Times are pretty crazy with Easter’s tornado outbreak in the south during the global pandemic. Calmer weather for the next few days will be a nice breath of fresh air. I’ve got all the details below!

Chance of Showers Today

As we settle in behind the very strong cold front that brought Easter’s severe storms to our south, temperatures will be a little cooler over the next few days. Our high temperature will reflect the recent wind shift to the north by only reaching into the upper-40s. If you (must) go out, be sure to grab a jacket. Current temperatures are already near 40°F, so we won’t be getting much warmer.

Chance for scattered showers throughout WABBLES today. Any accumulations should be minor. (COD)

We have a chance for scattered showers across WABBLES throughout today. If any showers do develop, their accumulations will be very minor. During the overnight hours and into early Wednesday there is the potential for frost to develop. The National Weather Service in Louisville, KY has issued a Freeze Warning from midnight through 8 AM tomorrow.

Sunny on Wednesday

As the remainder of the strong Easter low pressure system flushes itself out, higher pressure will start to build back up. The early morning frost will melt as we make our climb towards a slightly better high temperature in the upper-50s. Sunny skies should stick around for most of the daylight hours.

Calm conditions for WABBLES tomorrow as higher pressure takes over. (WPC)

The overnight/early morning hours will bring the potential for frost again, so bundle up if you’re headed out early. The cold always feels worse when you haven’t felt it in a while.

Warmer & Sunny on Thursday

Thursday’s forecast is pretty close to Wednesday but our high temperature will be a few degrees warmer. Southwest winds will help take us into the mid-60s under sunny skies. If you’ve got an outdoor quarantine activity you’ve been wanting to do, Thursday looks like a great day to do it.

End of the Week

A chance of showers will return on Friday afternoon before sunshine returns on Saturday. Saturday looks to be very pleasant with temperatures in the mid-60s.

That concludes today’s post! Practice that social distancing but don’t forget to step outside and breathe in some fresh air. Remember to follow @wxornotBG on Twitter and like us on Facebook to stay updated on all of your weather information. Have a great Tuesday!
