Mild and Quiet Weekend Ahead

It was quite a soggy start to the week for WABBLES, with several inches of rain falling on Monday and chilly weather taking over after that. Luckily the weather has calmed down quite a bit since then and we’re looking at a mild and quiet weekend ahead.

Clouds Increase Friday

As we get up this morning, high pressure is sitting just to our east with another disturbance sitting well to our northwest.

High pressure will be far enough away that it’s influence will be waning just a tad, allowing clouds to filter in from the northwest. We’ll stay dry, but clouds will increase during the day.

Despite the cloud cover increasing overhead, we should begin our warmup this afternoon, as highs approach 50° during the afternoon.

Overnight lows will be slightly milder than the past few days thanks to the clouds but they’ll still be chilly, right around 30°.

Slightly More Sunshine Saturday

As we start the weekend proper, it will be a similar story as today, with milder weather but clouds overhead.

Clouds will hang with us but I think there will be a few more breaks in the clouds tomorrow than during the afternoon today. But most importantly, we’re still quiet.

With that slight increase in sunshine we should also see a slight increase in our temperatures…if only by a couple degrees. Highs tomorrow afternoon should end up right around 51-52°, with overnight lows right around 35°.

More of the Same Sunday

It will be a similar story as we start to close out the weekend on Sunday. In fact, we’ll slowly start to lose the cloud cover as we go later into the day.

We’ll start on the chilly side with those morning lows in the middle 30s, but slowly warm again close to about 53° or so degrees as the cloud cover ever-so-slowly decreases during the afternoon hours.

By the evening and overnight hours, we’ll see clear skies take over and we’ll drop again to a low near 35°.

Getting Milder For Christmas Week

Things will stay rather quiet on the weather front heading into the Christmas holiday…but a warmer airmass will begin to move into the region starting Monday with highs through midweek hanging around 60°.

The bad news is that cloud cover will slowly increase by Christmas Day…but the good news is that travel weather doesn’t look too bad.
