Clouds and Rain Will Be With Us Into the Weekend

We’ve seen a bit of sunshine throughout this week, but we’re returning to how it was for much of last week as we head into this weekend. We’ll see plenty of cloud cover during the next few days with a some showers thrown in for good measure. That’s right, unfortunately, clouds and rain will be with us into the weekend.

First of the Fronts on Friday

Thursday was a mostly sunny and mild day across the region as southerly breezes helped usher above normal temperatures back across the area. We’ll see a 180 of that as we head into today as a cold front sets its sights on the region.

Clouds increased during the overnight hours ahead of our frontal boundary which will likely kick off some showers as it makes it’s way across WABBLES. The HRRR model seems to think these showers will be falling on your windshield during the morning commute.

We’re not talking about a lot of heavy rain because we don’t have that deep moisture in the area. But we’ll likely see a few showers early in the day as this system works through. Because of the cloud cover, we’ll stay close to average for high temperatures, topping out not far from 50º.

Rain will begin to taper off as we head into the afternoon hours, with just clouds lingering into the evening. We’ll slowly clear through the nighttime hours, cooling back to about 35º for a low.

Quiet Day on Saturday

High pressure will greet us overhead for the day on Saturday as we’ll be mainly in between weather systems to start the weekend. This should mean partly to mostly sunny skies for your Saturday afternoon.

We’ll be on the back side of today’s frontal system, as such, we’ll see more average temperatures as highs finish up somewhere near 50º or so once again.

Mostly clear skies are back for the overnight, as lows fall to about 40º under the influence of southerly winds late.

Cloudy Skies Dominate Sunday

Our next weather system will begin setting it’s sights on our area to close out the weekend. And, at first, this means an increase in cloud cover along with an increase in wind as well.

Winds will increase out of the south during the day, topping out between 10 and 15 MPH, with gusts knocking on the door of 25 MPH. All of this is helping usher in warmer and more moist conditions for more rain to come. Highs will end up around 55º during the day.

Showers will begin to encroach upon the area as we head into the late night hours of Sunday into early Monday and you should consider this a preview of things to come for the new week. Overnight lows only fall to about 50º.

A Soggy Start to Next Week

It looks like we’ll be dealing with more rain, heavy at times, as we start the new week. But something else will be falling after a breezy Monday and that will be our temperatures by Tuesday. We’re near 60º Monday, but that changes quickly.

We’ll quiet things back down late in the week, but we’ll stay cold with highs between 35º and 40º by Wednesday and Thursday.
