Moderating Into the Weekend

This week started quite warm, with highs in the 60s on Monday. Then, Old Man Winter gave us a preview with temperatures plummeting through the 30s along with a quick inch of snow. We’ve been slowly improving since then, however, and more sunshine will keep us moderating into the weekend.

Friday Sunshine

The sunshine is back for us to close out the work week.

High pressure is still in control after a moisture-starved cold front swept through the region late last night. And you know what that means!

You guessed it...me talking about the big blue H. (WPC)

That big blue H is going to keep us high and dry, and oh-so sunny as we kick off the weekend. Mostly sunny skies grace us with their presence once again this afternoon as we reach for a high right around 45º. It’s not t-shirt and shorts weather, but I’ll take it over an afternoon high in the 20s.

We should stay partly cloudy during the overnight hours, falling to a low around 25º.

Sunny for Saturday

The sunshine continues as we begin the weekend proper as high pressure remains our dominant weather influence.

We’ll see a bit less in the way of cloud cover for our Saturday afternoon and that should allow our highs to close in on that 50º number once again.

This is also a wonderful opportunity to remind you that this year’s annual KenTenn Weather Workshop will be taking place tomorrow from 9am until 5pm at the Topper Club inside Houchens-Smith Stadium!

Come on down!

The entire @wxornotBG team would love to see you there! More information including the registration link (it’s free!) can be found here.

Long after our KenTenn festivities conclude, overnight lows should dip back to around 25º thanks to more cloudless skies overhead.

Nearly a Sunday Encore

High pressure will finally be retreating a touch by the time we look to close out the weekend, and that means a little bit more in the way of cloud cover and warm weather.

Again, we implore you, add a couple degrees. (Pivotal Weather)

Afternoon high temperatures end up closer to about 53º. Once the sun sets, we’ll start to inch the mercury on back down…but scattered clouds limit us from going totally frigid. Low temperatures settle at about 32º.

Status Quo Into Next Week

No big blockbusters on the horizon at the moment, folks, as next week looks like a continuation of our current pattern. We’ll continue to warm into the lower, then middle, 50s under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Perhaps a light rain chance or two early and late next week.

That just about does it for me! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotbg for the latest updates on your weekend forecast. Have a terrific Friday!
