Cool Midweek Behind a Cold Front

We’re getting what’s left of our overnight showers on out of here as this front moseys on through. After that, we’re settling in with some pleasantly fall-like conditions as we see a cool midweek behind a cold front.

Clearing Out and Cooling Off

Our winds are already making the shift to the northwest this morning filtering in much cooler air along with clearing skies thanks to high pressure.

And we’re bringing chilly weather back after a mild day on Tuesday as highs only look to reach about 60º or so this afternoon. Definitely a hoodie or jacket day.

There's a chance we don't make it out of the 50s if the cloud cover hangs around long enough. (Pivotal Weather)

Of course, skies will be clearing throughout the daytime hours, which should leave us with mostly or completely clear skies by the nighttime hours and that means we’re cooling off quickly again.

Low temperatures should remain hovering around 40º or so overnight, though a few locations will likely fall into the upper 30s. There. Finally feeling like October!

Another Cool One Thursday

High pressure will still be in control as we head towards Thursday as we’re looking at another crisp afternoon.

High pressure will still be keeping our winds out of the northwest, a source region for cooler air. Though, I think with more sunshine, we’ll do better than this afternoon for highs by a couple degrees…closer to 62º-63º.

We’ll keep the cloud cover to a minimum and the sunshine to a maximum on this beautiful day, even if the highs stay a little chilly. Overnight lows fall back into the upper 30s near 40º again under a cloudless, starry sky.

Beautiful Homecoming Friday

Homecoming is upon us and, looking over the data, you couldn’t have picked a better weekend! We’re going to start the warm up as we start to close out the workweek.

On the backside of the high, winds will switch around to the south, allowing warmer air to begin infiltrating the area. Nothing too hot or anything, but some seasonably mild weather as highs look to climb into the upper 60s. A few of the warm spots may touch 70º under that brilliant sunshine.

As we get toward parade time, we’ll be falling back into the mid 60s before falling a bit more quickly as the sun goes down. Expect low 60s falling through the 50s if you’re headed out to Friday night football before settling to a low near 45º overnight.

Quite Mild for the Weekend

We continue the warm-up into the weekend. We’re closer to the mid 70s for Saturday and Sunday as another system draws closer. This could give us a shot at a shower or storm on Saturday or Sunday…but it’s still a bit too early to lock in details.

A stronger storm system looks to take shape that could also provide us with more rain chances as we head towards the beginning of the new work week…but there’s plenty of time to sort that out.

That just about does it for me! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotbg for the latest updates on that homecoming forecast. Have a terrific Wednesday!
