One More Hot Day As Cold Front Approaches

Good morning, South-Central Kentucky! Glad you could make it this morning. If you’ve given up on ever seeing fall, then don’t, because we will have one more hot day before the approaching cold front cools us off.

The cold front is really here? How exciting! (Giphy)

Another Record Threatened Today

If you haven’t been keeping up with the high temperatures lately, we’ve broken daily high temperature records every day so far in October. That looks to happen again today. The high for our Thursday will jump into the mid-90’s once again. If this happens, we could break the previous record of 94 set in 1903. Otherwise, we’ll see another dry and sunny day today.

The excitement comes later this evening when the cold front is expected to pass. The most we will get from it should be a few clouds and some occasional gusty winds. Lows tonight will drop all the way to the mid-50’s thanks to cold air behind it.

Cooler Temps are Here!

It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for. Cooler temperatures have arrived! The cold front that will pass tonight will bring much cooler air into our region for Friday. Our highs are looking to be around 80 degrees. I know that’s not quite fall weather yet, but it sure beats what we have been seeing.

We’ll be dry again for our Friday before cooling into the chilly low 50’s. A nice opportunity to open windows and give the A/C a break! We’ll briefly heat back up for our Saturday with highs in the upper 80’s, but don’t worry, it won’t stay. It will be a pleasant day otherwise with sunny skies and comfortable dew points.

Fall Lovers Rejoice!

It’s the time we’ve all been waiting for. Fall temperatures are here! Another cold front will pass through our area Saturday night into Sunday, which will knock our temperatures down to near average for early October, near the low 70’s. It will also give us a decent chance for rain, and maybe a few thunderstorms, on Sunday.

Our temperatures 6-10 days out are predicted to be near average. Fall weather is here! (PivotalWeather)

After the front passes, we will see our temperatures stay cool and near average well into the new week. Maybe fall is really here to stay this time!

That finishes today’s forecast. Thanks for reading! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotBG, as well as on Facebook, for all your weather updates. Enjoy the cooler temperatures!
