Summertime Weather Pattern to Continue

Good Sunday morning, folks! I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend, and is feeling rested on this Sunday morning. Expect the summer time weather pattern to continue across the region over the next several days.

Steamy Sunday

Today is looking exactly like the typical summer day: humid, semi-hot, and maybe a storm or two. It is just too typical for me (for the record, I am ready for Autumn to arrive).

Nevertheless, you’ll have to keep your eye out for that storm or two. There was a nice one that popped up over northern Warren county early this morning, and more of the same can be expected through the day.

Not everyone will get in on the action, but if you get under a storm, it’ll help relieve you from temperatures (briefly). Expect highs this afternoon in the mid and upper 80s and partly sunny skies otherwise.

Mundane Start to the Week

Guess what? The beginning to your work week looks eerily similar.

The past few days has seen an atmosphere lacking in significant forcing mechanisms. That is set to change by Tuesday!

There also isn’t a wildly strong mid-level high pressure system oppressing us day after day after day, so that is a huuuuuge plus to this pattern. Expect highs in the upper 80s to around 90ºF both Monday and Tuesday, with partly cloudy skies outside of storms.

As always, an isolated storm or two is expected in the bland atmosphere Monday. On Tuesday and Tuesday night, a weak cold front will be sliding towards the region.

This should help to create additional chances for storms by Tuesday evening and overnight. No severe weather is expected at the time, but anticipate heavy rain and lightning.

More Storms Possible Wednesday

By Wednesday, the position of the front is a bit up in the air, but it should still be in our region. If it has passed by Wednesday afternoon, our storm chances will be much lower. If not, expect more storms.

The WPC thinks the weak front will be hanging around on Wednesday. I am not so sure of that just yet. h/t WPC

Temperatures behind this front (heading into late week) are looking pretty pleasant, with highs getting back down into the mid 80s. More storm chances look to possibly arrive by Friday and Saturday, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there!

Well, that is all I have! Have a wonderful Sunday, and be sure to follow @wxornotBG on Twitter and Facebook for the latest forecast.
