Happy Monday, Folks!! I hope you all had a great weekend and ready to tackle a new work week! The focus for the first half of the week shifts towards the remnants of Tropical Strom Barry, as it closes in on south-central Kentucky.
Weather Outlook for Monday (WPC)
Mondays Forecast
As you head out the door for your Monday morning commute, it would be a good idea to pack your raincoat or an umbrella. The low-pressure system associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Barry will be centered over Arkansas and eventually move northeastward into Missouri throughout the day.

As the system moves northeastward, waves of showers and thunderstorms will move and swing through the WABBLES region throughout the day on Monday. These showers and thunderstorms will be efficient rainfall producers as there is an abundance of moisture throughout the low-to-mid levels of the atmosphere. The mains threats associated with these showers and thunderstorms will be heavy rain and gusty winds. High temperatures on Monday will rise into the middle 80s.

Tuesday and Wednesday Forecast
Heading into Tuesday, the remnants of Barry will interact with the northern jet stream and shift it towards the east over the Ohio River Valley. Heavy rain will again be a threat on Tuesday with even more moisture to work with. Highs on Tuesday will rise into the middle-to-upper 80s.

Heading into Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms will be in the forecast again. A few of these storms could be on the stronger side as there will be more instability to work with, in the atmosphere. Heavy rain and flash flooding will again be the primary threat associated with these storms, but you can’t rule out gusty winds.

Rainfall totals around the area will range between 1 and 3 inches with isolated higher amounts. Remember, if thunderstorms move over the same area over a short period of time, flash flooding could occur. If you come across a flooding roadway, TURN AROUND DON’T DROWN!!
