Heat Remains as Barry Closes in

Good morning and welcome to the weekend, friends! It’s been a beautiful end to the week so far and we don’t expect that to change much, but be prepared for some wet weather as we start the new work week. The heat will remain, but Barry will start to make its presence known in our area in the coming days. Check out the forecast below.

Weekend Remains Sunny

Before we see Barry move into our region, we will continue to see the effects of the high pressure that is stationed over our area. Sunny skies are expected again today with highs in the low 90’s. Scattered afternoon showers can’t be ruled out, though, thanks to a stationary boundary to our south.

Skies will be generally clear tonight, which will cool overnight temperatures to the low 70’s. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Barry Starts to Make Its Way In

Tropical Storm Barry is slowly making its way up through the southern US, and bringing a lot of moisture with it. We will remain dry for the most part on Sunday, but isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms can’t be ruled out as Barry creeps closer. Highs will jump again to near 90 degrees.

Lows Sunday will only get to the mid-70’s thanks to increasing cloud cover. We will start to see more of Barry’s moisture move into our area on Monday.

Rain for the Start of the Work Week

Models are still uncertain about where Barry’s moisture will go as it treks north. Depending on where it goes will determine how much rain we get. Right now we’re looking at about an inch through Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, temperatures will remain warm with highs in the mid-80’s and some pretty muggy dew points, which will make it feel a lot hotter than it really is. Make sure to take breaks if you have to be outside.
