Severe Threat Today Before More Rain For Start of Weekend

Watch the skies and our twitter feed because we are in for a severe threat today before more rain for the start of our weekend.

Mid-day and Overnight Severe Storms Possible

Your morning commute looks to stay dry, but be on the look out for potentially severe storms starting in the late morning with continuing chances into the overnight hours.

Damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rain will be our greatest threat for today’s storms. Both isolated cells and lines of storms are possible although we should get some periods of dry time between storms, so today will not be total wash-out.

Today will also feel soupy with highs in the low 80’s and dew points in muggy upper 60’s, so try to stay cool.

Showers Possible Tomorrow But Not Severe Storms

Take a breath, only isolated showers are possible through the day tomorrow with no chance of severe storms. Muggy dew points will remain, but highs will at least moderate to the more comfortable upper 70’s.

We have a shot at a dry evening to enhance your Friday night plans; however, we will have to see if nature yanks it away from us or not.

Soggy Derby Saturday

Soggy and cool will be good words to describe the start of our weekend. Rain showers are good bet for this Derby Day which will keep our temperatures around the 70⁰ mark and introduce a slight chance of flooding.

Being on the north side of a low pressure rotating in Gulf of Mexico moisture will be the cause of our likely Saturday soaking, so you might want to start thinking about moving any outdoor Saturday activities inside or moving them to Sunday if possible…

Sunny Sunday-Tuesday

Dry, quiet weather returns for Sunday through Tuesday under the auspices of high pressure. Perfect high temperatures in the low 70’s on Sunday will climb back into the 80’s by Tuesday as summer steadily approaches.
